We’ve been enjoying lots of pears lately, but I guess everyone finally got tired of them because 4 lovely pears have been languishing in our fruit bowl all week. So, I decided to make a tart – a simple, light and tasty dessert. Oh, and it’s French, too!
Pear Tart
1 pie crust (see my recipe here)
3 pears (I used Bartlett)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
pinch of salt
1 – 2 tablespoons honey
slivered almonds, optional
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Peel, core and slice pears. In a medium size bowl, combine pears with lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir gently to coat pears. Let pears sit while you prepare pastry. Grease tart pan with cooking spray and gently press pastry into pan.
Arrange pear slices in circular pattern on top of pastry. Drizzle honey over pears. Sprinkle with almond slivers if desired. Bake in oven 45 minutes or until crust is golden.
So simple and easy! I hope you’ll give this one a try at home.

Looks good to me! Hope the munchkins enjoy it!
Yum! I’ve got a bunch of pears at home. Jamie’s parents sent us a Harry and David gift box with some pears in it that we need to use up.
This looks delicious – and healthy, too!
